In this Annex the resources consumption
during construction and operation of AUTOSHUTTLE
is compared to the respective values of ordinary road traffic. Scenario:
Line Duisburg-Köln (see Annex A10). The existing conventional motorway
is maintained and AUTOSHUTTLE is constructed
additionally. The most important construction materials are reusable: steel,
iron, aluminium, copper, plastics. The non-reusable resource “energy” will
be scrutinised:

Result: Energy consumption of AUTOSHUTTLE
Duisburg-Köln is including constructing the line 30% of the
energy consumption of the conventional road vehicle traffic it substitutes
during its total operation period.
